  • If you could sum up the passage in one phrase, what would you say?
  • How does this text apply to your own life?

Knowing what’s at stake should ignite us to share:

  • Why do you think Amos lamented over Israel?
  • How did that affect him in sharing God’s judgement on them?
  • What do you see happening in the world that causes you to lament?
  • How could God use that through you to share about him?

Seek the Relational Jesus:

  • What sort of state would Israel be in if they properly sought after Jesus?
  • What does a personal relationship with Jesus look like for you?

Seek the Real Jesus:

  • What false things were Israel believing about God?
  • Why do you think that upset God so much?
  • Are we as Christians believing anything false about God?
  • How can we change that if we are?
  • Has anything taken the place of God in your life?

Seek the Reach out Jesus:

  • How is Amos calling Israel to be better? What does God say will happen if they do?
  • Why does it matter so much to God how we treat those thought of as less than?
  • How can we follow after what God called Israel to do?

Knowing what’s at stake should ignite us to share:

  • Now that you know what is at stake, how can you share about Jesus?
  • Who can you share Jesus to?
